About Us
We started Block by Block Philly in 2020 because we saw firsthand how litter and dumping affect neighborhoods, lowering property values, endangering public health, and eroding community pride. Our work is about more than picking up trash. It’s about changing the culture of littering, building connections, and restoring trust and beauty to our city, one block at a time.
What We Do
-
Organize community cleanups across Philadelphia to tackle litter and illegal dumping.
-
Provide tools, gloves, water, and safety vests to volunteers of all ages and abilities.
-
Collaborate with schools, businesses, organizations, and neighbors to strengthen community pride.
-
Host block parties and community events that combine cleanup efforts with food, music, and resources.
-
Advocate for sustainable solutions, including litter prevention, education, and recycling awareness.
-
Partner with artists to recycle litter into art.
