Philly VS Chicago Clean-Off!
Get ready for an epic showdown! Through October, Block By Block Philly and Cleanup Club Chicago are going head-to-head to prove which city can pick up the most trash in just one month. It’s a friendly rivalry with a powerful purpose cleaning our streets, building pride in our neighborhoods, and ending the culture of litter and dumping!

This is more than a cleanup. It’s a movement. Thousands of people across both cities will be hitting the streets, parks, and blocks to make their communities shine and every bag of trash counts!
How It Works
The Rules

Pick Your Spot
Clean your block, a park, a street corner, or any area within Philly or Chicago city limits. -
Bag the Trash
Count your total FULL bags and take a photo of your haul- photos are REQUIRED. (Let us know if you need bags!) -
Submit Your Cleanup
Every cleanup needs to be logged through our form. -
Track the Scoreboard
We’ll be updating the online scoreboard to show which city is leading. -
Celebrate with Us
We will have a block party participation celebration on Saturday, November 8th with music, free food, games, resources and great prizes!

All trash must be collected within Philly or Chicago city limits.

Submissions require a photo for verification.

Bag counts and bag sizes must be included on the form.

Only volunteer efforts count (city employees or contractors cannot participate on the clock.)

Only cleanup group leads can submit totals from group events to avoid double submission.

Individuals can submit as many times as they like throughout the month.

Each bag of litter collected and submitted through our form gets added to the scoreboard, showing which city is leading the race to become the cleanest. The scoreboard updates regularly with totals from individual volunteers, community groups, and neighborhood cleanups.
